On April 2nd, 2015, four terrorists stormed Kenya’s Garissa University College and began firing at innocent students. This inhuman act resulted to the death of 147 people, most of whom were students. Then the Ministry of Internal Security and Coordination of National Government reported that over 500 students managed to escape, 79 of whom were injured. This incident caused panic among students both in Kenya and around the world. Security mechanisms in Kenya and other countries warned that extremist and criminal groups were targeting educational institutions as sources for their illegal activities.
